What to Expect

hackathon (Hack Marathon) is an event where programmers meet to do collaborative programming.

Hackathons provide a venue for self-expression and creativity through technology. People with technical backgrounds come together, form teams around a problem or idea, and collaboratively code a unique solution from scratch — these take shape in the form of websites, mobile applications, and software tools.

We aim to invite sixty bright minds into a three day weekend of exploratory problem solving at the HSU library. Students will break into groups of up to four and join projects that interest them in various subjects ranging across multiple disciplines.  Over three days these groups will craft working prototypes.

Lumberhacks is free of charge to participants and includes a free shirt and free meals during the event.  Prizes will be awarded for best project.

Lumberhacks is a student-led effort run by the HSU Computer Science Club and is made possible through charitable donations. To make a contribution to Lumberhacks, please visit the HSU donation page and indicate in the comments section that the contribution should go to the “HSU Computer Science Club”.
